Global Public Inclusive Infrastructure – Automated Personalization Computing Project

Our society is rapidly incorporating digital interfaces into all aspects of our lives. Yet many people cannot use these technologies due to barriers caused by their level of disability, literacy, and/or digital literacy. To address this an international consortium launched an open-source software development project to create the auto-personalization component of the Global Public Inclusive Infrastructure (GPII) effort. Auto-personalization instantly and automatically changes the computer’s interface into one that is more accessible and easier to use. The goal of this project is to move the GPII auto-personalization from the research/prototype stage into a complete, reliable, and secure system ready for deployment. The auto-personalization software (now expanded and called “Morphic”) will be implemented on a pilot basis in American Job Centers, a community college, and a university. It will then be provided for download and testing with individuals, with special outreach to people with disabilities and organizations providing assistance to people with disabilities.
