The forum provides a place to share with peers, but also contains posts that go as far as sharing pictures of and insulting passengers’ children.
Dr. Jen Golbeck, a professor at the University of Maryland College of Information Studies and social media expert, shares that a private Facebook group can be a positive outlet, “but once you have that environment, it can easily shift into a really inappropriate space.”
