Dr. Amanda Waugh Wins Jesse H. Shera Award
The College of Information Studies has the great pleasure of announcing that Dr. Amanda Waugh, an iSchool doctoral, won the 2018 Jesse H. Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research.
Her research work titled, “The Everyday Life Information Practices of Teen Nerdfighters,” received this honor due to its exemplary research design and methods. The reviewing committee noted her work as “intriguing and original,” with a “well-defined research methodology… highly appropriate for the research problem” paired with “accessible and thorough” writing.
The Jesse H. Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research was established by the Round Table of the American Library Association to recognize an individual for dissertation research utilizing excellent research design and methods.
