Instructional Gestures for Classrooms and On-Line Mathematics Learning

Date/Time: Tuesday, May 19, 2020 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Host: EMIC Virtual Event

Featured panelists:
Dr. Mitchell J. Nathan
Dr. Martha W. Alibali
Dr. Rebecca Boncoddo

Followed by discussant:
Dr. Tensia Soto

If you’ve been wondering how gestures and mathematics learning go together – for K-12 students or undergraduates – and how to use gesture in the new fully online environment many of us find ourselves in, then this is the event for you! The panelists have developed a short video series (45 minutes in total) that we ask you to watch in advance so that they can build upon that previous research during the event; and Dr. Soto will extend their research into the undergraduate population.

If you’re interested in mathematics teaching, learning, or research – whether face-to-face or online – then this is the event for you!

When: May 19, from 2 – 3:30 pm eastern
Where: Zoom
