SIG Rush Webinar (ALISE)

Open Houses/Info Sessions Student Events

Date/Time: Wednesday, September 10, 2025 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Location: Virtual / Zoom EST

About This Event

We invite you to participate in a SIG Rush Webinar to learn and build community around shared interests with other ALISE members or new joiners. The event will host representatives from multiple Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in ALISE shortly before the annual conference!

We will start with a short introductory panel of representatives of various SIGs. Then, you will meet and learn more about each SIG in breakout rooms.

Whether new to ALISE or a longtime member, the event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the SIGs’ plans, brainstorm, introduce new conveners, ask questions, and build a network before the ALISE annual conference.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Special Interest Groups provide a vehicle for ALISE members to share ideas, plans, news, and opinions related to a particular area of interest. The groups are distinct from the usual committee structure in that participation is voluntary rather than appointive, and there is no obligation to produce anything. Special Interest Groups can parallel ALISE Standing Committees, but the two serve distinct functions and should guard against confusing these functions. Members of Standing Committees are appointed and are charged with specific tasks. Special Interest Groups are encouraged to hold discussion meetings for the exchange of ideas.
