Location: UMD College Park, INFO Commons, 0300 Hornbake Library

Join us for a spooktacular Halloween Block Party at the iSchool Commons in Hornbake Library (Ground Floor- Room 0300)! Activities include:

  • Costume contest (see details below),
  • Halloween-themed jeopardy,
  • wickedly good music,
  • pizza,
  • and more!

When you get your “general admission” ticket, please also select any activities you’ll be participating in! It’ll help us with pre-planning. Everyone is encouraged to bring a Halloween-themed sweet treat to share but you are not required to let us know ahead of time.

Judging Information:

  • The costume contests will be judged first by whether you’re a student, faculty, or staff and then judged by group or individual costumes. This judging will happen during the event, so please plan to arrive at 11 am if you’d like a enter! If you come after 11 you may be disqualified from winning.
  • Pre-registration for this is required, and you can do so in the ticket add on section. The “Best Of” each building’s office/door/desk decoration contest will be judged prior to the event. The best overall winner will be voted on by block party attendees and announced live at the end of the event! Deadline for your decoration is 10/25 but earlier is better!
