Calling all UMD College of Information Studies (INFO) Students: Join us as representatives from CORMAC share about “The State of Information Management and Analytics in the Healthcare Industry.” They will also discuss their internship and career opportunities.

Abstract: The healthcare analytics industry is experiencing explosive global growth, projected to grow to $19B by 2027. Improving the quality of care, operational efficiency, and business expansion are typical concerns. Healthcare analytics is increasingly important, fueled by the health industry stakeholders’ thirst for information, the need to manage large, diverse data sets; growing regulatory complexity; and innovations ranging from precision medicine to value-based care to population health management. Data analytics in healthcare impacts everyone. Decisions made that affect the nation, like vaccination mandates, oncology care,  and even the medication you take are based on data. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision, and digital twins play an essential role in solving critical healthcare challenges. In this talk, representatives from Cormac will discuss their perspectives on these different aspects of information management and analytics and share their employment plans and expectations to grow their team to meet these emerging needs.
