Closing the Loop: How Tech Policy & Research Can Shape Each Other?

Research Talks/Events

Date/Time: Friday, June 6, 2025 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location: ESJ 1224

Contact: Ido Sivan-Sevilla

Please join us for the Tech Policy Hub’s first annual event.

Description:
The in-person event will take place on Friday, June 6th, 2025, 9am-5pm, at the Edward St. John building in College Park campus, UMD, room 1224. We will be having four panels across our four tech policy areas of interest – Cybersecurity, Privacy, AI, and Information Integrity.
Each panel will have two scholars and two practitioners from the policy field. Panels will start with a short research presentation and then a response from a practitioner. We will then open the discussion to come up with potential avenues for fruitful collaboration between research and practice in the designated fields. Our audience will learn about the state of affairs in each topic and the ways in which scholars and policy practitioners can cooperate to advance the field.

We would be delighted to see you there. Registration and participation are free of charge. Our venue has limited capacity so please register as soon as you can through this link.
