BIO

Dr. Polly O’Rourke has been actively engaged in developing and executing interdisciplinary research at the University of Maryland for over a decade. She has worked in many areas but her primary interest are psycholinguistics, cognitive neuroscience and second language acquisition. In 2011, she joined the University of Maryland as an Assistant Research Scientist at the Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL). In 2017 she was promoted to Associate Research Scientist and she continued in this role when CASL became the Applied Research Lab for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) in 2018. In 2022, she joined the College of Information Studies as Director of Research Development. She received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Arizona.
