Mason Jones is a first-year Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland iSchool. His research centers on archives, libraries, and rare books and manuscripts. Their research engages these spaces and institutions through lenses of disability rights and access, working with researchers and users with disabilities to determine their needs and aid in disability advocacy in cultural heritage institutions. Their work aids in improving cataloging, digitization, digital preservation, and collaboration between researchers and practitioners. Mason has worked for several libraries and archives in various capacities, including the Government Accountability Office, The University of Alabama, and Auburn University. He holds an MLIS degree with an Archives Concentration from The University of Alabama, an MA in English Literature from Auburn University, and a BA in English from Francis Marion University.
